Learners from the Adult Learning Service in Ryedale exhibit course work
An exciting exhibition was held from Tuesday 3 March - Friday 27 March at the Helmsley Arts Centre featuring two artists, Christine Burn and Lynette Lunn from one of our Adult Learning Service Watercolour Painting classes held in the Ryedale Area and taught by Daisy Barnes.
"We both live and paint in Ryedale and recently exhibited work in the Ryedale Open Art Exhibition. We have very different watercolour styles but share in an immense joy of painting. We hope you enjoy it too!"
For further information visit http://www.helmsleyarts.co.uk/exhibitions.php where, apart from having shown the work of these two talented artists, there are many other activities provided.
Helmsley Arts Centre is a thriving venue which was opened in its present form in April 2001, and apart from exhibitions it hosts a variety of community arts events ranging from films and
plays to workshops, talks and group meetings. There is an in-house theatre group, a market day (Friday)cafe' and it even provides an Opera Bus which travels to performances from Opera North at the Grand Theatre, Leeds!

It is a great accolade for two of our North Yorkshire County Council Ryedale Area learners, Lynette and Christine, to have held their exhibition in such a high profile arts venue in the Ryedale area.
Congratulations to both, and to their watercolour tutor Daisy Barnes whose 'Watercolour Masterclass' classes they have attended for the last four years.
The exhibition required 20 examples from each of the learners' work, and was planned a year ahead of the exhibition opening, so it represented much hard work and commitment on their part.
Daisy is really pleased that Christine and Lynette felt that they had the confidence to accept the challenge of an exhibition like this!
