North Yorkshire County Council are looking for reliable, committed and caring people, interested in working as Passenger Assistants to accompany pupils with special educational needs on their journeys to and from school.
You will be responsible for the safety of the children during the journey. This includes making sure the children board and alight the vehicle safely, supervising the children whilst travelling, and that any safety equipment is used correctly.
Some children will require a passenger assistant who is trained to administer medication and you will need to be willing to receive training in the relevant procedure.
You will need good communication skills as you will liaise daily with children, parents and schools. Experience of working with children, particularly in a similar role, would be an advantage, but is not essential as training will be provided. CRB checks will be required.
For an informal discussion please contact Nicky Wilson, School Transport Officer, Integrated Passenger Transport, North Yorkshire County Council on telephone number (01609) 535678.
To apply please log onto www.nyccjobs.co.uk or alternatively call (01609) 778404.
