Katherine Taylor - Leading Teacher, Science (Primary)
The opportunities that I have had at Sessay C.E. Primary School, a small rural school situated near Thirsk, have allowed me to teach science in both Key Stages 1 and 2 over the past six years. As a science subject leader I have aimed to develop creative, enthusiastic learners who can work competently in practical situations. We work flexibly to meet the needs of varying learning styles, the children's own ideas are also incorporated into planning as much as possible.
As a leading teacher I am able to offer support with planning for mixed age classes, advice on assessment, ideas for practical activities and differentiation in science lessons. Using a cross curricular approach in science is also being developed in our school, if this is something which you need help with I am happy to share ideas!
